1-0! The Aces outlasted Pocono Mountain West in an opening night thriller, edging the Panthers 63-61 at the Hoop Group Reading Tip Showcase at Albright College Friday night. Sam Brown '23 led the way with 30 points and the Aces drilled 11 threes in the contest to help overcome a decided height disadvantage -- the Aces were without all-state center Demetrius Lilley.

LM played tough and together and made clutch shots down the stretch, including a big three from Peter Gribbin '22 and four straight free throws from Brown and Gribbin to help seal the victory.

Though the Aces held a small lead throughout much of the game, the Panthers went ahead briefly early in the fourth at 49-48 before Jaylen Shippen '22 countered with an acrobatic layup to give LM the lead for good.

It was a quality win against a state-level opponent and an exciting start to the 21-22 campaign.

The Aces return to action Saturday night in the home opener against Parkland. Tip-off is 7:30 PM.
