LM raced to a 10-0 start and never looked back in a 63-31 romp over Penncrest in the Central League Finals. It was an improbable, yet fitting ending to a remarkable league season in which the Aces dominated from start to finish. LM earned its first undefeated Central League campaign since 2013 and its third consecutive league title. Along the way, the team overcame an injury to Jack Forrest '19 who missed a key stretch of nine games during the heart of league play. But the Aces never blinked. And their laser focus was on display Wednesday night in one of the most dominant finals performances in league history.
Forrest scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Aces. Steve Payne '19 contributed 12 points and seven assists and Josh Martin '19 added ten points and 12 rebounds. The title is LM's sixth in eight years and seventh since the start of the tournament format in 2008. It's the 15th overall title for Coach Gregg Downer and 37th for the program.
