LM closed out the District playoffs in impressive fashion, with a 68-49 victory over Central Bucks West. With the win, the Aces locked up the third seed from District 1 heading into the PIAA State Playoffs.
After trailing 16-14 at the end of the first quarter, the Aces began to make their move. LM started the second frame on an 8-2 run and would build on their lead over the next two and half quarters. Nine Aces entered the scoring column in an all-around team effort. Jack Forrest ?19 (15 points), Darryl Taylor ?19 (13 points), Julian Hairston ?19 (12 points) and Harrison Klevan ?18 (10 points) all reached double figures. The Aces had 12 threes in the game, including a 4-4 performance from Hairston who hit two during a 17-4 second half run that put the game out of reach.
The Aces also turned in one of their better defensive performances of the season, keeping the Bucks? dangerous three-point shooting in check and holding their own against CB West?s imposing front line.
LM now turns its attention to the state playoffs and a first-round matchup with Manheim Township next Saturday at 4 PM at Bensalem High School. This is the eighth consecutive year that the Aces have qualified for the state tournament, but they are seeking their first state win since 2014.
