After a tight start, the Aces fell to Conestoga 77-57 in the second round of the district playoffs on Tuesday night.

The game began with teams trading three-pointers before the Pioneers went on a run and led 15-10 after the first. The second frame was back and forth as both teams pushed the ball, hitting shots in transition. LM?s deficit was down to 4 late in the first half before Conestoga got an and-1 at the end of the half to extend their lead to 7, 35-28, at halftime.

Conestoga was red hot in the second half, hitting nearly 70% of their shots from the field in the final two quarters to build on their lead and hold their home court. The Aces gave a good fight, but appeared to have tired legs after a remarkable month-long stretch of victories that culminated in the 2017 Central League title and home playoff win. In the end, it was Conestoga?s night. The Pioneers played perhaps their best game of the season when they needed it most and clinched a state playoff berth.

Terrell Jones ?17 led the Aces in scoring with 19 points, with Steve Payne ?19 and Jack Forrest ?19 scoring 13 and 14 points respectively. Noah Fennell ?17 (5 points), Theo Henry ?19 (3 points) and Deion Davis ?18 (3 points) rounded out the scoring.

The Aces will look to rebound on Friday night at 7 PM at home against CB East as they compete in the consolation bracket of the District playoffs. The Aces will have to win the next two games to advance to the state playoffs.
