The Aces suffered their first setback of the season in a 65-61 defeat at Garnet Valley. The Aces led early and kept things tight through most of the first half, trailing by just three with less than four minutes to play in the second quarter. But a Jaguars run pushed the advantage to 33-22 by the end of the half. Garnet opened a 15-point lead in the third before a late charge by the Aces made things interesting in the fourth. LM was unable to convert on several three-point attempts down the stretch and Garnet made enough free throws to seal the win.
Friday night's game was an example of how strong and deep the Central League is this season. Garnet Valley is a serious league contender and provided an important barometer for a youthful LM squad. Much improvement will be required if the team hopes to make a return to the postseason.
