The Aces pulled out a gritty 63-51 road victory at Marple Newtown on Tuesday night, turning a two-point halftime deficit into a double-digit fourth quarter advantage.
The Aces started strong, racing to a 6-0 lead, but consecutive threes by the Tigers knotted the score and LM went cold, failing to score for nearly five minutes.
Marple led by as many as seven points in the second frame, before the Aces rallied back behind a three-point play from Darryl Taylor '19, free throws by Steve Payne '19 and a beautiful charge taken by Jared Robinson '18. Despite turning the ball over eight times and shooting just 28% from the field, LM trailed by just two at the break.
LM began to take control in the third quarter, taking the lead for good on a Taylor trey two minutes into the frame. LM would extend the lead to double digits in the fourth, but strong shooting by the Tigers kept things interesting until the final minutes.
