KJ Helton '16 had 12 points and four steals in the Aces' victory over Marple Newtown.

The Aces built an 11-3 lead in the first quarter and used a 17-3 second quarter run to cruise past Marple Newtown 67-41 on Tuesday night. All 15 players on the LM roster saw the floor and ten entered the scoring column in the team's final contest before winter break.

Noah Fennell '17 led all scorers with 20 points. KJ Helton '16 (12 points) and Jeremy Horn (10 points) also reached double figures. The Aces shot a blistering 57% from the floor, including 9-17 (53%) from beyond the arc. Several players earned their first varsity points, including Deion Davis '18, Jack Forrest '19, Amir Isley '18 and Darryl Taylor '19.

Perhaps the highlight of the night came late in the fourth quarter on a flurry of threes from ninth graders Forrest, Taylor and Theo Henry off feeds from Payne, Najja Walker-X '17 and Isley. Henry followed-up his trey with an Eli Needle-like charge on a wild Marple drive, much to the delight of the Aces bench and a large, energized home crowd.

Bryant Gymnasium was filled on Tuesday night with a number of Aces alumni home from college break. All five seniors from last year's team and many of the 2013 squad were in attendance. The Dawg Pound had another strong outing, and decked the halls in festive seasonal garb that included antlers, stockings and Santa hats.

The Aces (5-2) return to action over winter break at the JP McCaskey High School Tournament in Lancaster. The Aces will take on York at 6 PM on December 28th on the opening night of the event.
