The Aces take on Cedar Crest this Saturday at 1:30 PM at Lebanon High School in Round One of the PIAA State Playoffs. This is the fifth consecutive state playoff appearance for the Aces, the longest current streak among District 1 AAAA schools, and their ninth trip in the last 11 years.
The Aces enter the state tournament as the #6 seed from District 1. LM began the District tournament as the #12 seed (out of 32 teams) and improved their standing to #6 by beating Council Rock North in round one, Penncrest in the state qualifier and Conestoga in a Round 4 playback game, which was won in dramatic fashion on a Corey Sherman '15 buzzer-beater. LM dropped a quarterfinals game to Plymouth Whitemarsh and a playback contest to Pennridge despite leading at halftime in both games.
Tickets for Saturday's game will be available at the doors at Lebanon High School, located at 100 South 8th Street in Lebanon, PA (about 80 minutes from Lower Merion). The game is expected to be a sellout, so fans are strongly encouraged to arrive early. Cedar Crest is the #2 seed from District 3. The Falcons return the nucleus of a roster that nearly toppled eventual state runner-up La Salle in last year's state tournament.
