Jeremy Horn '16 and the Aces will look to rebound in a rematch against Ridley on Wednesday night.

Just a game removed from holding an opponent to a scoreless quarter, the Aces had the tables turned. Ridley outscored LM 13-0 in the third quarter to erase an 11-point halftime deficit and went on to beat the Aces 56-42 on Tuesday night.

Steve Pendleton ’15 led LM with 14 points, many of which came during a sparkling first half of offense for the Aces. Trailing 15-14 at the end of the first quarter, the Aces outscored Ridley 16-4 in the second behind patience, ball movement and timely three-point shooting. The Aces also locked down on the defensive end and outrebounded the Green Raiders 12-8. It was some of the finest basketball of the season for LM, who seemed to build on progress from recent games.

But the Aces came up empty to start the second half and watched their advantage disappear behind turnovers, quick shots and a Ridley team that was ready to pounce. At the end of the third, the Aces trailed 32-30. The Green Raiders continued their run into the fourth, scoring on their first three possessions and knocking down two treys to pull away. LM cut the lead to six with three minutes to play, but couldn’t get key stops and rebounds down the stretch.

Credit the Green Raiders for storming back to protect their home court in impressive fashion. The Aces will hope to do the same on Wednesday night as these two teams complete the second-half of a home-and-home matchup.
