Jule Brown '15 had nine points in the Aces' win over Harriton on Sunday.

The Aces took care of business on Sunday night, handling Harriton 56-42 to advance to the Central League finals. It was the Aces’ third victory over the Rams this season, and easily the most convincing. LM bolted out of the gates with an 18-6 first quarter advantage and led from start to finish.

Each time Harriton closed the gap, the Aces had an answer. None was more impressive than a six-point possession late in the third quarter after Harriton had cut the margin to six points. Jule Brown ‘15 came off a Justin McFadden ’14 screen to nail a three and a Harriton defender plowed through McFadden resulting in a foul. LM maintained possession and five seconds later, Corey Sherman ’14 drained a three to push the margin back to 12 points. A Rams bucket cut the lead to ten at 35-25, but a Justin McFadden full-court, buzzer-beater heave banked in to give LM a 38-25 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The Aces led by double-digits throughout the final frame and handed the Rams – a scrappy and dangerous opponent -- their largest margin of defeat on the season.

Justin McFadden ’14 led the way with 22 points and had three emphatic blocks that helped set the tone defensively. Jule Brown ’15, JaQuan Johnson ’14 and Corey Sherman ’15 chipped in with nine points apiece.

A driving snowstorm couldn't stop the Dawg Pound from making the trek en masse to Ridley. LM's loyal student section showed once again why it's the best around.

Up next for the Aces is a league finals match-up with Conestoga on Tuesday night at Harriton at 7 PM. The Pioneers defeated Penncrest in the other semi-final.
