The Aces swept the weekend slate, dispatching of Harriton and Radnor on consecutive nights to raise their league record to 9-2.
On Friday, LM used a balanced attack to surge past the visiting Rams 79-70. Six players reached double figures, led by juniors Jule Brown and Corey Sherman, who netted 17 apiece. The Aces led by nine at the break and held a double-digit cushion through most of the fourth quarter en route to victory. The team shot a blistering 61% from the field and knocked down ten threes. The Aces? final point tally (79) represented a single-game high for the season. It was also a season-high in points allowed by the Rams.
On Saturday, the Aces traveled up the road to Radnor to take on a much-improved Red Raiders squad. After falling behind 13-4 in the early going, LM used a 21-12 run to tie the game going into halftime. The Aces continued their surge after the break, opening the third period on a 9-2 run, keyed by a Brown trey and consecutive transition baskets by JaQuan Johnson ?14, one off a blocked shot and beautiful outlet from Justin McFadden ?14. In the fourth, the Aces extended the lead to 13 on a driving scoop layup by Nick Jones ?15 before Radnor began to foul to extend the game. Uncharacteristically poor free throw shooting by LM helped Radnor narrow the margin in the closing minute.
McFadden led the Aces with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Johnson (15 points), Brown (11 points) and Jones (10 points) also reached double figures for LM, who have now won eight of their past nine games.
The Aces return to action on Tuesday night at home against Conestoga. Tip-off is 7 PM.
