Aces Nation will invade Villanova's Pavillion tonight as the Aces take on Chester in the 2013 District 1 Final. A limited quantity of tickets will be sold at the Pavillion ticket window beginning at 4 PM. All tickets available through the schools are sold out. Tip-off is 9 PM.
The #2 Aces (25-2) enter the game after defeating #3 Great Valley 61-35 in the semifinals. LM's path through the District 1 tournament also included wins against Conestoga, Penncrest and Coatesville. This is the second consecutive year that LM has earned a trip to the District Finals and the fifth time in the last 15 years. LM fell to Chester 61-53 in the same game last year. Last month, the Aces earned their second straight Central League championship. In a season of highlights, LM also defeated nationally-ranked St. Frances (MD) and Bishop O'Connell (VA).
Chester beat Abington 76-43 in the other semifinal and arrives as the state's #1 team for the third consecutive year. The nationally-ranked Clippers haven't lost a game to a Pennsylvania opponent in more than two seasons and are led by McDonald's All-American Rondae Jefferson. The Aces have lost two straight to the Clippers, including last year's state final. LM last beat Chester in 2007.
Aces fans are encouraged to wear maroon to tonight's game and should plan to arrive early as parking will be tight.
