Carl Johnson '08 set the tone defensively in the Aces' win against Radnor

With two games left to play in the regular season and the opportunity to play for a Central League title on the line, the Aces left little to chance in their match-up with Radnor. Playing with the passion of a champion, the Aces roared past the Red Raiders 68-47 with a vicious defensive assault and a ruthless transition game. The 21-point margin, convincing as it was, belied the actual devastation. A season-high twelve LM players entered the scoring column and the Aces' starters rested for much of the second half. At one point, LM held a 34 point advantage thanks to an 18-0 run at the start of the 3rd quarter.

Once again, the Aces set the tone with perimeter defense. Carl Johnson (16 pts, 5 asts, 5 stls) wreaked havoc on Radnor's point guards, while backcourt mates Eric Stahler (6 pts, 5 asts, 5 rbs) and Steve Meehan (6 points, 3 asts, 4 rbs)  helped limit sharpshooter Tim Clement to just three points through the first three quarters. In the frontcourt, Greg Robbins (13 pts, 7 rbs), Andrew King (4 pts, 3 rbs) and Harley Williamson (4 pts, 3 rbs, 3 blks) battled early, while Alon Seltzer (7 pts), Kevin Escott (2 pts, 6 rbs, 3 blks) and Galloway Green (4 pts, 5 rbs) closed the show. Additional scoring contributions came from Oliver Cohen (2 pts, 3 asts), Ben Lucas (2 pts, 2 rbs) and the effervescent Tobi Ajirotutu (2 pts).

The atmosphere in the Radnor gym was electric on Thursday Night, as the hometown crowd hoped to spark an upset on Senior Night. The Dawg Pound had other thoughts, coming out in strong numbers and giving one of their most inspired performances of the season.

The Aces will be counting on similar support this Saturday as they face Ridley at Villanova in the regular season finale with at least a share of the league title on the line. Ridley's loss to Haverford on Thursday drops the Raiders into a 3-way tie with the Aces and Conestoga in the Central race.

Tip-off on Saturday is 5 PM. Tickets are available in the Athletic Office until 3 PM Friday or at the doors of The Pavilion on Saturday.
