The Aces held Marple Newtown to 14 second half points and cruised to a 63-37 victory on Tuesday night.
Raheem Hall '13 led all scorers with 19 points and added nine rebounds and six assists. Nine Aces entered the scoring column and three joined Hall in double figures, including Darryl Reynolds '12 (12 points, 5 blocks), Yohanny Dalembert '13 (10 points) and BJ Johnson '13 (10 points).
After falling behind 6-3 in the early going, the Aces closed the first quarter on a 13-2 run thanks to an aggressive full court press that forced five Marple turnovers. Dalembert helped keep the surge going in the second quarter, netting eight of his points in the frame, including a steal and emphatic slam on the break that put the Aces up 26-12. But the Tigers battled back just before halftime to close the gap at 30-23.
Whatever halftime adjustments Coach Gregg Downer made in the locker room seemed to work as LM -- sparked by Hall's ten-point outburst in the third quarter -- outscored Marple 33-14 over the final 16 minutes. The Tigers, who entered the game as one of the Central League's top teams with a 12-4 record, finished with their most lopsided loss of the season.
With the win, the Aces improve to 16-2 (12-0 CL). LM will conclude mid-term week with a Friday night match-up at home against Conestoga. The Pioneers are 12-5 and defeated Radnor on Tuesday 75-48.
