Alumni Update: Capkin '05 nets Player of Week Honors for 3rd time

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – For the third time this season, Dan Capkin '05 has been named the Centennial Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, conference officials announced last week.

Capkin guided Gettysburg to a 2-0 week in Centennial Conference play, averaging 22.5 points per game while shooting 62.5% from the field. He had 22 points, four rebounds and four assists while shooting 4-for-5 from three-point range in a 77-74 victory over Washington (Md.) College, then posted 23 points with four steals and two blocks in an 88-73 win over Muhlenberg College. Capkin shot 63.6% (7-for-11) from beyond the arc and was 8-of-9 at the foul line for the week.

Capkin currently leads the Centennial Conference in scoring, averaging 20.8 points per game. He is also third among the conference leaders in field-goal percentage (56.3), third in three-point field-goal percentage (47.0%), and tied for eighth in assists per game (2.75).
