LM set the tone in the first quarter, outscoring Parkland 18-9. The Trojans pulled within 7 by halftime, but the Aces came out firing in the second half. The Aces took their first double digit lead of the half on an Aaron Staley layup and extended the lead to 16 on a Foote 3-pointer late in the third. LM's largest lead was 19 points in the fourth quarter. The 14-point final margin was the largest for Parkland in defeat this year.
Despite the cold and snow, the Dawg Pound showed up in force to cheer on the home team. Many in the Aces student section wore ski hats and snow goggles in homage to the wintry weather.
Saturday's victory was payback of sorts -- the Trojans knocked the Aces out of the state playoffs last season.
Next up for the Aces is a Central League showdown at Conestoga on Tuesday night at 7:30 PM.
