The Aces cooled off red-hot Strath Haven on Saturday afternoon, handling the Panthers in a 56-42 road victory. Alon Seltzer '10 scored 15 points and Oliver Cohen '10 added 12 to pace LM. Haven saw its six-game winning streak snapped.
The Aces steadily built their lead through the first three quarters and led by as many as 19 in the fourth frame. Solid free-throw shooting helped extend the margin; Matt McKenna '11 was 6-6 from the charity stripe in the final period and the Aces shot 15-17 overall from the line in the second half. Lower Merion also shot well from beyond the arc, connecting on seven three-pointers. Seltzer, who saw his first action in eight games, scored the first points of the contest on a three-pointer from the left corner.
McKenna (11 points) and Aaron Staley '11 (11 points) also reached double digits for the Aces. Mike Block '10 (3 points), Mike Buchwald '11 (2 points) and Conor Foote (1 point) rounded out the scoring. Seltzer and Mike Robbins '12 led the team with five rebounds apiece.
The Aces moved to 6-1 in Central League play, setting up a showdown with undefeated Penncrest on Tuesday night. Gametime is 7:30 PM at BC.
