An epic third quarter keyed LM's impressive 70-44 victory against Haverford on Thursday night. Leading 25-22 at the half, the Aces exploded on a 30-2 run in the third frame en route to their most lopsided win of the new year. The third quarter margin was the largest single-quarter advantage in more than a decade for the Maroon & White.
Greg Robbins led all scorers with a season high 28 points. Harley Williamson notched a career high with 14 points and Carl Johnson scored 11 points and dished out 8 assists for the Aces, who received contributions from the entire roster.
The third quarter barrage began with a three-pointer from Johnson. The Aces 'D' then took over, forcing the Fords into turnovers on multiple possessions and keying transition baskets on the offensive end. Williamson put an exclamation mark on the run, jumping the passing lane for a steal and driving end to end for an authoritative dunk. When the dust cleared, the Aces were up 58-24 and putting the finishing touches on a game that had shifted decidedly into cruise control.
Up next for the Aces is a Saturday afternoon match-up against a much-improved Strath Haven squad. Tip-off is 2 PM at Strath Haven.
