The Aces suffered a 54-53 setback against perennial state power Harrisburg on Saturday at the Harrisburg Hoop Fest. LM started strong against the Cougars taking an 18-9 first quarter lead and a 26-22 advantage into halftime. Harrisburg knotted the game in the third and the two teams traded leads four times in the fourth. With the game tied at 47 and just under four minutes to play, the Aces went cold, failing to score until a Carl Johnson three-point play with 14 seconds on the clock. Solid free throw shooting iced the game for the Cougars, who withstood a deep three-pointer from Ben Lucas in the closing seconds.
Johnson held Harrisburg's D1 prospect Quincy Roberts to just two field goals for the game and the Aces defended well throughout, but could not find their touch or collect a timely rebound in the 2nd half. The same could not be said for the Cougars who hit a season-best eight three-pointers in only 12 attempts.
Greg Robbins led the Aces with 16 points. Johnson and Steve Meehan chipped in with 15 and 11 points respectively. Harley Williamson scored eight points and collected two blocks.
The Aces look to rebound on Tuesday night at home against Upper Darby. Gametime is 7:30 PM.
