The Aces raced to a 33-17 halftime lead and never looked back in Saturday night's 59-43 drubbing of Penncrest. Greg Robbins led all scorers with 20 points and collected 12 rebounds, four blocks and four steals in a strong all-around effort. Carl Johnson (10 points, 4 assists), Eric Barefield (9 points, 5 assists), Steve Meehan (9 points), Adam Ellison (5 points), Kevin Escott (4 points) and Oliver Cohen (2 points) also scored for the Aces.

With the win, the Aces' record improved to 9-3 (4-3 league). Despite the team's strong recent play, Saturday's game marked the Aces' first win in the Main Gym over a Central League opponent this season. Ironically, Penncrest was the victim in the Aces' previous league victory at home -- an 86-56 blowout in the team's final home game of the 2006 regular season (2/6/06).

Keys to the Aces' victory on Saturday were high-pressure perimeter defense and an aggressive attack in transition, highlighted by a steal and breakaway dunk for Robbins. For the second straight game, Johnson sent the Aces into the locker room at halftime on a high note. Against Marple on Thursday, he hit a running layup at the 2nd quarter buzzer - on Saturday, he beat the clock on a pull-up jumper off a feed from Robbins.

The Aces return to the road next week for three important league match-ups. The team visits Radnor on Tuesday, then plays at Ridley on Thursday and at Springfield on Saturday. All games begin at 7:30 PM.
