Members of the Dawg Pound practice their moves at Maroon Madness '07

Aces fans enjoyed an evening of basketball and on-court games at Maroon Madness 2007. The evening featured the introduction of the 2007-08 boys varsity team, a Maroon/White intra squad scrimmage and a variety of on-court fan contests. Head Coach Gregg Downer addressed the crowd and thanked fans for their continued support of the program. Friday’s action proved that the Dawg Pound – celebrating its 10th anniversary -- will be in full-effect again this season. A nucleus of 12 "Pounders" performed a spirited, impromptu rendition of the Soulja Boy Superman dance (see video) and led the way in on-court contests, including a sprint/push-up relay won by senior Peter Vagnoni, who earned a pair of Kobe Bryant/Nike sneakers. In the "Dunk or No Dunk" contest, senior

Courtney Scott (grade 12) correctly selected more Aces dunkers than his opponent and classmate Jeremy Arnold en route to winning an Aces Basketball winter jacket.
In the scrimmage, the White team topped the Maroon team 49-42. Eric Stahler (16 points), Greg Robbins (14 points) and Oliver Cohen (9 points) paced the winners. For the Maroon squad, Carl Johnson led the way with 18 points and 5 assists.

The event raised nearly $500 for Coaches v. Cancer through the sale of Maroon Madness t-shirts sponsored by Huntington Learning Center of Bala Cynwyd.
