The Aces made quick work of Haverford on Tuesday afternoon, racing to a 13-2 first quarter lead and never looking back in a 57-24 romp. It was a high-voltage performance for an LM team in need of a jolt. Coming off a one-point loss to Ridley, the Aces used their superior depth to run the Fords ragged, pressing for much of the game and attacking with ferocity on the offensive end. The Aces’ efforts delighted a surprisingly robust Dawg Pound that clearly relished the opportunity to take over an away gym.

BJ Johnson ’13 (12 points, six rebounds) led a balanced attack that saw ten Aces enter the scoring column. Colin Eisenstaedt ’11 and Matt McKenna ’11 set the tone defensively, playing like rabid attack-dogs and forcing six turnovers during the Aces’ dominant first quarter run. Eisenstaedt also chipped in on the offensive end, scoring a career-high six points. McKenna nailed two threes and finished with eight points for the game. Luke Chambers ’11 had seven points, including a beautiful step-back three-pointer at the start of the second half. Johnson had the highlight reel play of the day, intercepting a pass and going the length of the floor for a breakaway, two-handed dunk.

All 16 Aces in uniform contributed to the victory.

Tuesday’s game was played four hours early due to the pending winter storm. Next up for the Aces is a visit to Upper Darby on Thursday at 7:30 PM. The Royals beat the Aces on a buzzer-beater two weeks ago and currently sit atop the Central League standings.
