Ardmore, PA - Lower Merion Aces senior Molly Hanlon recently committed to Holy Family University where she will take her talents next fall. The 5'10 swing made her decision official by signing a National Letter of Intent in November.
Holy Family is one of the top Division II programs in the country, finishing eighth in the final polls last season and entering this season ranked No. 10 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.
I am very happy with my decision," said Hanlon, who averaged 11.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for Lower Merion last season. "I am also very fortunate to be receiving a full scholarship from a successful program like Holy Family."
During the past two years, Hanlon has been the Aces' leading scorer, and has earned first team All-Central League and All-Main Line honors as a sophomore and junior. One year ago, she was named an Inquirer All-Philly honorable mention selection.
Lower Merion girls' basketball head coach Lauren Pellicane said, "We are thrilled for Molly and her family. She is headed to one of the top Division II programs in the nation and has the ability to excel at the collegiate level. She will have a bright future at Holy Family."
Hanlon played AAU ball for the Runnin' Rebels and has hinted at majoring in sports management or elementary education.
